Andhra Rashtra Avatarana Dinotshavam

Fifty one years back, on the same day the state of Andhra Pradesh was formed with the sacrifice of 'Amarajeevi', Potti SriRamulu. The formation of Andhra Pradesh and the subsequent reorganization of states on linguistic basis is considered as a mile stone in the history of South Indian states. This was crucial because it helped in preserving the culture and tradition of the respective South Indian states which would have been impossible otherwise.

Telugu people call him 'Amarajeevi' meaning immortal soul for fasting until death for 57 days for the cause of separate state for Telugu speaking people. The death of Amarajeevi, followed by wide spread agitations was an eye-opener to the then stubborn Nehru government. This led to formation of Andhra Pradesh apart from Kerala, Karnataka, and later Gujarat and Maharastra.

From then on, November 1st is celebrated by telugu people as 'Andhra Raastra Avatarana Dinotshavam (AP Formation day)'. On this occasion I would like to quote the official song of Andhra Pradesh, penned by Sri Sankarambadi Sundaraachari.

But nowadays some political parties are trying to divide Andhra Pradesh for their personal benefits. As a firm believer of smaikyanhdra, I wish we all telugu speaking people should stay united.

Just imagine how much public money will be wasted to set up a separate assembly, separate secretariat, separate high court, separate governor's office, separate police force, separate transport department, separate health department, separate education board, separate.... and the list goes endless. And imagine, how much development is possible if all that money is spent in developing proper infrastructure in the so called backward areas.

I feel its apt to remind the all time hit song 'telugu jaati manadi nindu ga velugu jaati manadi' written by Dr. C. Narayana Reddy. The lyrics 'vachindanna vachadanna varala telugu okatenanna' are as apt as they were 30 years back. Enjoy these videos.....

Spring Blossom @ UKY

Memorial Hall amidst spring blossom

The spring blossom at University of Kentucky was memorable. My little brother has already told me about this, but I never expected it to be so great.
After dull winter mornings, it was very exciting to see flowers blossoming. Flowers everywhere..... plants, trees, grass, bushes...... I was amazed seeing the awesome beauty of mother nature.
I managed to capture quite a few pics of this beauty with my modest motorola L6 cellphone camera which I want to share with you all....

Flowers all arround....

A Closer look....

Pic taken near Funkhouser

Tree overwhelming with flowers

I can see more flowers than leaves

Here again.....

The pic I like the most....

Need not explain.....

Wish its beautiful always... like this

No words to explain.....

Grass flowers (Gaddi poolu)

Look at the cute little lavender colour flowers

A close pic of gaddi poolu

Street across Press on a spring morning

The yellow ones are not dried leaves, they are flowers!!

Believe me even these green one's are also flowers

Finally a word of thought... Nature is created beautiful by the almighty. We don't have any right to pollute the nature and deprive our future generations from its beauties.
